Inglorious Bar

After history and culture class with the group on Thursday, I found myself on my own for a while. Madame Laurence had gone to a meeting in Paris for the day and wasn't getting back till late so I was looking at some free time. Reyn told some of us about a poster he'd seen for a free concert so I decided to join. We met up at the fountain in the Place de la Comedie later that night. After wandering through some side streets for a while we found the place: the Inglorious Bar. It was a small, American biker-style joint all decked out with Confederate flags. The concert was down a flight of Stone-Age stairs and inside a cave-like room under the bar. Four French guys took the stage, looking like a cross between the Amish and the homeless, and to our surprise started singing American country and folk songs, with a heavy French accent of course. Tunes from Oh Brother Where Art Thou and the Beatles rocked the cave-room as we enjoyed a random night in the Inglorious Bar.
